We strongly encourage families to attend the worship & education classes on  Sunday mornings.  When children are in GAPP classes, there are adult education opportunities in the Fellowship Hall, no pre-registration is required.  There is no fee for Sunday School at St. James.

Please complete and return all forms to the church office.   We need to prepare & provide adequate staffing and curriculum for children of all ages.

If you have a child enrolled in GAPP, the expectation is that you will participate in some capacity.  Please consider the many areas in which your talents can be used and are needed.  Training & materials will be provided for you.

We look forward to receiving your registration and your involvement in your family's Christian Education.  If you have questions, please contact Sandy Thibault at sandy@stjameslc.com; or call 952-890-4534.

BACKGROUND CHECK

Each prospective volunteer who serves at St. James Lutheran Church with the youth or children's programs will require a criminal background check.  The background check is conducted by an agency that St. James Lutheran Church selects.  There is no cost to you.  (Please note: Youth age 17 and under do not need to do the background check)

Download a copy of the form or apply directly to their website:  background check or register online.

Just as a shepherd feeds his flock, our Sunday School leaders “feed the flock” of children in their care with knowledge about God & His love for us. Have you ever wanted to teach Sunday School but were not sure who to speak to or how to start?  Has it been a few years since you taught Sunday School & you would like a chance to get involved again? Do you want to have an even richer experience at church on Wednesday nights? Now is the time to let us know!

We are planning the 2012-13 GAPP Sunday School & Wednesday night “Two or More” year.  We are looking for volunteers to help lead the children. There are many opportunities available, from short one-time commitments to full year classroom assignments.  No teaching experience is necessary. Training & curriculum materials will be provided. The possibilities are endless & the spiritual rewards unlimited!

Teaching our kids is one of the best adult education opportunities we have at St. James.  In order to teach a Bible story you first have to read it, so by teaching a class you will either be looking at a familiar Bible story in a new way, or reading it for the first time yourself – a great learning opportunity!

If any of this sounds intriguing & you have questions or already know that you want to volunteer, please contact Patty Seewald at p.seewald@yahoo.com or 952-201-6652.
