Friends in Christ,
The “Festival of Welcome” was indeed a grand celebration! It was wonderful to see so many children in worship and the start of Sunday School! It was a joy to hear the choir and to gather around the altar for Holy Communion. We were also grateful to receive and dedicate the lovely candlelighter that was given with memorials for Ken Anderson.
I want to offer our thanks to all who made the day so memorable! The generosity of the congregation for the school supplies will be well received by those in need. The Welcome team that arranged for the balloons, bounce house and treats. Also the “Sunny Summer Sunday Singers “ what a joy to sing and sway to such fun music on such a sunny September Sunday!
This upcoming Sunday we will celebrate the 83rd Birthday of St James. Deacon Krista Lind from the St Paul Area Synod, will be our preacher, Praise III will provide the music under the direction of Kjersten Dysthe. Following worship there will be a time for coffee, conversation and Birthday Cake. Deacon Lind is anxious to learn about St James ministry and will be able to answer any questions about the call process.
These are exciting days for St James as we enter a new era of ministry and mission.
God’s Blessings to each of you!
Pastor Nancy
