Friends in Christ,
Grace and peace in the name of Jesus !
Our Christmas Jingle Bell Photo night was lots of fun! Thanks go to Pastor Nancy and the Pastoral Care Team for hosting this gathering in our parking lot. In all we almost forty cars, and took photos of dozens of people dressed up in Christmas finery. There were plenty of bells ringing and much holiday cheer. We will be using these photos as part of our Christmas Eve Livestream worship. You will get a chance to see all the smiling faces as we sing our closing hymn, Joy to the World.
As good as the event on Tuesday evening was, I know that not everybody was able to come out to get their “jingle bell” photo taken. No worries - you can still participate. All you need to do is take a photo holding jingle bells (hold your phone HORIZONTALLY) and send it to us at communication@stjameslc.com. Don’t have a jingle bell? No problem, beginning December 4, jingle bells are available in a bin outside the church entrance.
I enjoyed being able to greet each car. What a joy it was to see you and chat a bit. I miss seeing you all on a weekly basis. I know that with the rise of COVID infections and deaths it will be some time before we can safely gather together.
It was good to hear from those who came out that they are using our online worship resources. It was also mentioned more than once how Faith Teams have provided vital connections. Folks said that they have grown in their faith through meaningful conversations with their small group. If you would like to try this out for yourself, I am offering a low commitment “try it out” Faith Team experience on Monday nights, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. (for more information - click here).
Advent invites us into expectant waiting. We look for restoration and renewal of our broken world and lives. Come Lord Jesus and shine the light of your grace into our night. Fill us with the joy of your love and the blessing of community.
In Christ’s Light,
Pastor Walt
