Writing devotional materials has become an important part of my ministry. Over the past years, I have shared a variety of devotional series with the St. James Lutheran community. Leaning into this practice, I am working on one more writing project as your pastor.
My last devotional series at St. James Lutheran is called, “This Path We Have Traveled Together: Saying Goodbye with Gratitude.” It begins this Sunday, July 17 and will run for fourteen days leading up to my final Sunday as pastor in this community (July 31).
As with my previous devotionals, there will be an Inspirational Image, a focal scripture, prayer, some questions to ponder, and a reflection on either ministry we shared or on the process of saying goodbye.
Saying goodbye is hard, especially when relationships are formed. For fourteen years we have walked together through a lot. There have been ups and down, twists and turns, joys and sorrows. Through it all, God’s Spirit was present to guide, strengthen, encourage, forgive, and inspire. I am grateful for the path we have traveled together and with God.
