“Agape” is the Greek word for love most often used to describe God’s love for creation, for us. It is Valentine’s Day as I write. And so, today I share a brief valentine, from God to you.
The Love of God is Greater Far
The love of God is greater far,
Than tongue or pen can tell,
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were all the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every (person) a Scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
(Excerpted from a hymn written by Frederick M. Lehman, 1917)
Wherever you are, wherever you go this day, know that you are loved more than you can ever imagine.
