Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ!
Last week, I mentioned that we we needed folks to sign up for Altar Guild and Communion Servers for us to be able to resume communion distribution at the Altar. Thanks to a good response, we will be able to serve the sacrament around the Altar on Easter Sunday. Yay!
From the acknowledged Lutheran sacrament of Holy Communion, we now expand our efforts this week to the serving of the unofficial Lutheran “sacrament” - Coffee!
Thanks to the reduction of the COVID virus in Dakota and Scott County, we are at the LOW COMMUNITY LEVEL of transmission. According to our Regathering Plan, we are able to serve both food and beverages at this level. For the past week weeks, we celebrated by offering coffee outside and in the Fellowship Hall. It was great to once again share in these times of fellowship.
Looking ahead to continuing coffee service (and eventually treats), we need to reestablish our Sunday morning hospitality teams. We are in need of a dozen people who would be willing to serve. Once we have at least twelve volunteers sign-up (we had one sign-up last Sunday during coffee time), we will resume Coffee Fellowship on a weekly basis. I am excited about the restart of another ministry. We continue to move in the spirit and direction of regathering as a community. Being at the lowest level of COVID threat, we are limited only by the enthusiasm and willingness of people to sign-up and share their time and talents.
As always, I look forward to greeting you in worship this week. Whether you attend at 8:00 a.m. (parking lot and sanctuary), 9:30 a.m. (sanctuary and livestream), or at a time of your choosing (YouTube archive), I can’t wait to wave to you and share with you in the joy of Jesus.
In Christ’s Light,
Pastor Walt
