Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ!
One of the things that I enjoy is teaching the Bible. Though written a long time ago in a land far away, the Bible remains God’s living word to us and for us. Each of us, whether we have a degree from a seminary or not, can engage the wisdom, comfort, and challenge that is found within the pages of our holy book. Part of my job as a pastor is to help folks make connections between God and neighbor; the Bible is a great resource for making that happen.
On Palm Sunday at 11:00 a.m., I am offering a special ZOOM Bible Study on Luke’s passion narrative. This hour-long event is both for “new-timers” and those who have studied scripture previously. Together, we will explore the meaning that this critical story has for us. If you want to read ahead we will be looking at Luke 22:29-23:49. It will be fun and insightful - I promise.
To participate, all you need to do is follow this link (which is also on the front page of the St. James website.) at the start time, 11:00 a.m.. (Central Standard Time).
I look forward to seeing you then and before during worship. As I mention each week, I am excited to greet you whenever you decide (and however you decide) to engage in worship at St. James; whether it is at 8:00 a.m. (parking-lot or in the sanctuary), 9:30 a.m. (livestream or in the sanctuary), or through our YouTube archive. This week (Palm Sunday) will feature special music and liturgy at ALL worships so be sure to make plans to attend. We shall begin Holy Week with a joyous flourish.
In Christ’s Light,
Pastor Walt
