Here we are in the heart of summer. The time many of us look forward to all year round. Yet as I write this we are only 29 days away from the Minnesota State Fair. You know what that means. We can almost see the end of summer from here.

Time stands still for no one. Life is always on the move. We are always negotiating our way from one place or time to another. My time with you is also drawing to a close. Which means more transition is on the horizon for all of us, both leave taking and arrival.

In one of the first pieces I wrote after joining this community I told you I believe transition is a movement from life to life. Part of what I mean by that is that in the midst of all sorts of transition God remains a faithful and constant companion accompanying and showing us the way.

St James is on the move. Your call committee is hard at work. They have done all the necessary preparation and will soon be receiving names of prospective candidates. As interviews begin in the next few weeks, keep your call committee and the candidates in your prayers. God is on the move in and through this process for the sake of the church and the neighborhoods surrounding you.

Meanwhile, planning and work is well underway for Rally Day, September 10th, for fall programs including Sunday School, confirmation, small group adult education opportunities, and more! The people of St James are on the move!

One season begins to fade. Another is taking shape. The future of St James is bright. There is much more to come! God is here with you, moving with and among you, calling you into the future.
